Firstly a warm hello! Finding the right therapist and booking your first session can be a daunting experience and it takes a lot of courage on your part to do so. I could say a lot about my specific qualifications and the type of therapy I offer, but honestly, I believe all types of therapy can work. The most important factor on your journey I believe, is the therapeutic relationship you have with your counsellor or therapist. If you feel you can really trust and open up to your therapist, then your journey of self discovery and healing can truly begin. So please take time to read about me and go with what your gut tells you (its normally right!)
I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy but the heart of my practice is treating my clients with genuineness, warmth , empathy and unconditional positive regard. No matter what your story is, or what thoughts and feelings you have now, or have had in the past, I will be there; not to advise, judge or criticise, but to support, explore, and teach you skills to help understand yourself and manage your emotions. Working with you to meet your goals, step by step, session by session.
People quite simply are my passion as is improving mental health. Mental health is so vital to our quality of life and how we relate to the world around us. Without it, life can seem overwhelming, and our view of ourselves, the world, and our future, tainted; almost like we are looking at the world through a muddy lens. I help clients to clean that lens, and look at the world, self, and others, in a realistic evidence based way; challenging those negative thoughts that can make us feel so bad and act in a way that perpetuates the cycle of negativity. Empowering people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to understand and help themselves discover a more authentic and fulfilled way of life.

I’ll help you develop the habits and skills to effectively deal with the emotional hurdles you may encounter in life and offer you support through many of life's challenges including; anxiety, depression, low self esteem/confidence issues, bereavement, self harm, relationship difficulties, and post natal anxiety.
I provide confidential counselling and CBT therapy from my private counselling office based in the St James Business Centre, Renfrewshire (ideal for those who prefer to avoid the hassle of city travel; secure free parking on site and easily accessible).
It is so difficult to choose a therapist these days. It his hard to tell from a photo and description if that person may be the right fit for you. With this in mind I have uploaded a short video below taken from my office (although it supports a lot of sadness, struggle and pain; I refer to it as my 'happy place,' as it also facilitates so much empowerment, understanding, hope, change and inner peace). I hope this will give you a better sense of me.

How I can help
I specialise in providing structured CBT therapy for individuals experiencing low mood, self esteem/confidence issues, and anxiety together with the various forms it can take (post traumatic stress disorder, health anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post natal anxiety, general anxiety, panic attacks or phobias). Your bespoke treatment plan will be unique to you and tailored to meet your specific goals for therapy. I can help you feel in control of your emotions and your life again.
Together we will work towards making sense of what is causing you distress just now, and work towards meeting your goals for therapy, session by session, step by step.
I never cease to be amazed at the power of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and the transformations in my clients from session to session by applying the learning we embark on through therapy, to their daily lives. The skills used in CBT can be empowering and life changing, offering a new and improved way of living.
